New gallery exhibitions opening at Cedarhurst

New gallery exhibitions opening at Cedarhurst

MOUNT VERNON, IL (KFVS) - Phase two of the current Main Gallery exhibition "Brave New World: The Art of the Book in the Digital Age" creates a snapshot to consider the Digital Age and where it is taking us.

Featured in the exhibit are many different book technologies such as historical books, commercial books, artist’s books, sculpture, photography, language structures, and digital representations of the book. When discussing the exhibition concept, Cedarhurst curator Rusty Freeman stated, “My guiding premise is that mediums can function as the message. Form is content. Visitors to the gallery have the opportunity to experience, consider, and discuss the cultural values placed on books and how changing technologies affect content.”

The exhibition will be in the Mitchell Museum Main Gallery May 19 through July 21.
