Concerts, bike ride, Sci-fi movie events in Mt. Vernon Sat. | Community Spirit

JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Events in Mount Vernon for Saturday, August 18 are available.

Events include:

• Mark Gordon in concert at GenKota Winery at 2 p.m. Aug. 18, followed by Ronnie Vaughn & Friends at 7 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 618-246-9463.
• Kiwanis Fun Day Bike Ride at Rend Lake on Aug. 18. Start at Rend Lake Visitors Center on the west side of Rend Lake Dam, 11981 Rend City Road in Benton. Rides include 12, 30, 60 or 100 miles. Registration is at 7 a.m. and the ride starts at 8. Entry fee is $25. For more information you e-mail shurtzjm@aol.com.
• The C.E. Brehm Memorial Library will host a Sci-fi movie Aug. 18. The library says this is the first in the trilogy and licensing agreements prohibit the use of the name for promotion. The movie starts at 1 p.m. and kids must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 618-242-6322.
