JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The "Cedarhurst’s Got Talent" event which debuted last year is producing a second event to showcase more of the talented people from southern Illinois.

This year’s CGT winner will take home a $500 cash prize! Cedarhurst’s Got Talent will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 and feature performers that were selected from the Oct. 7 talent audition session.

Competing for the cash prize will be vocalists, instrumentalists plus a hoop dancer.

The evening event which is a fundraiser for programming at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar cocktail hour and silent auction bidding. This year’s lineup of auction items includes sculpture, wood, leather, ceramic, and jewelry from regional artists as well as themed gift baskets and gift certificates from area businesses. Dinner catered by Cindi Peterman will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the talent competition will get underway at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the talent competition will be decided by audience voting as well as a panel of regional celebrity judges.

Tickets for the event are $50 for members of Cedarhurst and $55 for non-members and can be purchased at Cedarhurst or by phone at 618.242.1236 ext. 225.

Located at 2600 Richview Road, Mt. Vernon, IL Cedarhurst is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is an activity of the John R. and Eleanor R. Mitchell Foundation.
