MOUNT VERNON, IL (KFVS) - The Jefferson County Historical Village will host an interview-style program called "The Tragic Life of the Cherokee Indian" on Saturday, February 16 at 3 p.m.
The Village is located at 1411 North 27th Street. Organizers say you can come hear more about the life of Cherokee Indians before, during and after the Trail of Tears.
Local historians Sid Milliner and Bob Pemberton will present the program. Milliner portrays Richard Taylor, who led the 11th detachment of the Cherokees on the Trail of Tears.
Admission is free.
