INA, IL (KFVS) - Rend Lake College Community and Corporate Education are hosting a spring taxidermy class.

It's a non-credit class designed to teach students the art of preserving, mounting and displaying animal skins.

According to the college, instructor Fred Lawrence will show students how to mount their own bird, deer or small animal. Participants get hands-on experience working on their own project.

The class will be held from 6-9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 7-26, and will meet on the RLC main campus in Ina in the Advanced Technology Center, Room 151.

The registration fee is $89. Added costs for supplies will be determined by the selected project and will be discussed during the first session. Supplies needed for the first class are species to mount (must be thawed) and a scalpel or sharp knife. A projected supply list cost sheet is available.
