RLC offering 8-week course in digital photography basics

INA, IL (KFVS) - Rend Lake College is offering the basics of digital photography with an eight-week hybrid course.

Digital Photography (GRD 1204) runs March 18 through May 10 in a hybrid format which combines online instruction with three face-to-face class meetings. This introductory class includes basic operation of a digital camera, composition, camera controls, exposure, and basic image enhancement for creative use.

“During this class, students will learn how to get their cameras out of auto mode and get high quality pictures. We’ll experiment with different settings, f-stops, shutter speeds and more,” said Jennifer Tarantino Linsin, Graphic Design Associate Professor. “We’ll also cover tips and tricks of composition, getting shots that are so much more exciting and satisfying than the standard grip-and-grin shot.”

The three classroom meetings will be held 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 18; 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 8; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 6. Each will be in Vocational Building Room 104 on the Ina campus.

Digital Photography is worth three credit hours. To find out more or to register, contact Jennifer Tarantino Linsin, Graphic Design Associate Professor, at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1716, or at tarantino@rlc.edu.
