Carbondale bank, bookstore to award 12 scholarships | News
CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Two Carbondale businesses will award 12 Saluki Community Scholar scholarships to a graduating high school senior with plans to attend SIU Carbondale or a returning or transfer student who has achieved 56 total credit hours.
Old National Bank and 710 Book Store of Carbondale established the scholarships to reward and recognize two incoming or current Southern Illinois University students each from Jackson, Jefferson, Saline, Wabash, White and Williamson counties who have shown a continued commitment to serve their community through volunteer service.
Each scholarship will consist of a $500 grant each semester for four consecutive semesters, excluding summer classes, and is for the purpose of buying books and school supplies from 710 Book Store Southern Illinois location in Carbondale only. Application and eligibility guidelines are available at 710 Bookstore in Carbondale and Old National Bank locations in Carbondale, De Soto, Murphysboro, Mt. Vernon, Harrisburg, Mt. Carmel, Carmi, Marion and Carterville. The applications will be accepted Jan. 1 through March 15.Copyright 2012 KFVS. All rights reserved.
