MT. VERNON, IL (KFVS)- Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a convenience store in Mt. Vernon.
According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, it happened shortly before 4 a.m. at Huck's on 2nd Street and Broadway.
Police say the suspect entered the store wearing a black bandana with white designs over the mouth and ankle socks on both hands while showing a silver revolver. The person robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police describe the suspect as being dark-skinned and wearing gray zip-up hooded jacket with white and black stripes on upper chest up to the hood. The suspect also was described as wearing a pink watch or bracelet on a left wrist, a purple bracelet on the right wrist and a red shirt under the hoodie, and dark colored jeans.
