Rend Lake College featured on CNN Money | Schools

JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - College Measures created a chart for CNN Money that listed Rend Lake College as a top school for Student Success.

Rend Lake College ranks as the top school in the state of Illinois and it tied at 14th nationally with their success rate of 68 percent.

The chart was used to help students decide which school would help them transfer to a four-year insitution. Rankings were based on the percentage of students who transferred to a 4 year insitution after they graduated within three years.

Rend Lake College offers college classes to high school students. The Upward Bound program has been created by Rend Lake College to provide academic guidance to high school students.

"We are here to make sure we can help each student achieve what they want to achieve, whether it's a transfer to a four-year university or training for a career," said RLC President Terry Wilkerson.

Programs are available when students enroll at Rend Lake College such as Student Transfer and Retention Support. Several colleges such as Southern Illinois University, Mid-Continent University, McKendree University and Kendall College have partnered with Rend Lake College.

Low tuition, the availability of financial aid, class locations and the staff has helped contribute to the student success rate.
